Introduction
To whoever this may reach, it's wonderful to meet you. Whether you're someone I already know, or someone that I'll get to meet sometime, I'm glad you're here.
My name is Walker Broadbent. As of writing this post, I'm a rising senior at the University of Michigan studying computer science.
I played a lot of baseball growing up, ending my high school days as a knuckleball pitcher. Now, I somehow converted my family into a "Shohei Ohtani" family and I get my fair share of baseball that way.
I've always had a fierce desire to create, no matter the medium. Whether it was building silly little games on ROBLOX, creating domino toppling videos, drawing both traditionally and digitally, or even writing poetry, I consistently found a creative outlet for myself.
As I've come to realize the immense capabilities that the world of computer science has for me, I've become a little overwhelmed at all the options lie in store for me to discover. I know that I'd really like to try a lot of things, from web development to artificial intelligence, and so that's what I plan to do.
Never stop growing.
It's just a short phrase on the front of a notebook from Target, but it resonates with me. I've wanted to grow an herb garden once I graduate college, however I don't have nearly enough sunlight in my current housing situation to justify it so I settled with some succulents and a Madagascan palm.
I will keep growing.
